I adored the first book in this series, but somehow, the second manages to be even better. This sequel takes everything that worked before and dials it up to eleven: higher emotional stakes, richer character development, and twists that left me completely floored. It’s a beautifully BRUTAL story about loyalty, love, and the ways grief and power can twist people apart.

I’ve had the pleasure of beta reading for the second time for the lovely S.E. Bouvier, and…Hooooly….shit! What a book!!! 😱 I loved the first book in this series, but in this installment, we turned everything up several notches. It’s a THICK book, but who doesn’t love a good, thick fantasy book? Right? We got to explore so much more of the world, the characters and the magic. We got to meet many gods and goddesses, and it truly was an epic journey filled with so many emotional scenes. I’ve laughed, swooned, felt my heart in my throat, gotten goosebumps, and ugly cried SO hard.

I really liked the first book in this series, but this one just went that times 100. Absolutely beautiful.
I really love the storyline in this series. The worldbuilding is really well developed and built and lays a great foundation for the story to be told. The whole concept in this book is, already from the beginning, interesting. Then it just built up with more and more drama and amazing characters.
